- What do I need to get started?
JVideo! may be downloaded and installed on any Joomla! 1.5.x website. You will also need an Warp account to use the JVideo! built-in high definition video system. Visit our website to setup your Warp account.
- Can I use JVideo! for FREE?
Yes - you can upload and stream videos using JVideo and the basic Warp account absolutely FREE. The only time you have to pay is if you want to maintain your branded video player or increase the amount of bandwidth & space available to your account.
- What are the minimum requirements?
JVideo! requires a minimum of PHP 5.1.2, MySQL 4.1.22, and Joomla! 1.5.0. It also requires the PHP cURL module (installed by default on most PHP servers). The latest version of Joomla! is recommended in all cases. JVideo! cannot be installed on Joomla! versions prior to 1.5.
- How do I start using JVideo once I've installed it?
- Setup your Warp Account in "Client Setup" in the JVideo component admin section
- Create new menu items on your Main Menu using the JVideo > Videos menu type
- Configure each menu item to point to a different JVideo category (e.g., Sports or Travel) or filter (e.g., Top Rated or Most Watched)
- Add a JVideo > Upload Video menu item to another menu with the appropriate access level.
- Setup the JVideo module to display videos on non-JVideo pages.
- Upload videos like crazy.
- Finally... rejoice, for thou hath awesome videos!
- How long will it take before my videos appear on my site?
The time it takes to completely convert your uploaded video depends on the length and quality of the video as well as the amount of videos currently in the processing queue. Your JVideo! powered website will check the Warp servers every 30 seconds for newly completed videos.
- I uploaded videos a while ago, and they still aren't showing up!
You may view that status of uploaded videos by logging in to your Warp Console and clicking on the "Processing" category in the menu. Videos are processed first come first served, but our system scales to add new conversion servers as needed automatically.
- Can we use JVideo! to link to YouTube and other third party videos?
No. The idea behind JVideo! and Warp is to offer only the highest quality videos available, so we don't have any functionality built into JVideo! that allows you to embed low-quality videos.
- How do I use the "Target Video/Profile Item ID" in both the component and module?
This feature appends the Item ID of the menu item you specify to the videos and/or profiles in the component and module. For instance, you create a general "Videos" layout, and you position a bunch of modules in Joomla to only appear on this specific page. Normally, without the Item ID, those modules in the layout would disappear, and you'd have to settle for a design that isn't exactly what you want. However, with this feature, you can now specify that all videos in your module list use the Item ID of the general "Videos" layout, and the same modules will appear when viewing those videos linked to by the module.

You receive the following error when setting up your account in JVideo:
Warning: DOMDocument::loadXML() [function.DOMDocument-loadXML]: Start tag expected, '<' not found in Entity, line: 1
Your server is most likely using libXML 2.7.2. Please ask your website host to upgrade to 2.7.3 or higher, downgrade to 2.6.32, or recompile PHP with libexpat. You can send your sysadmin to the page below so he/she will have the information they need: Bug #45996 You can also visit this thread for more information.
